About the Festival
Gamechangers Fest is the final part of the Gamechangers program, a 5-month learning experience where participants from Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, and Russia created their own educational games. During the Festival we will present new games, learn from game experts, discuss the educational game process in our countries. The international part will be online (English language) and the offline part will be hosted in Saint Petersburg (main language is Russian).
Aims of the Festival:
- Promote the development of interactive and
game-based learning approaches in education

- Networking among educators who
lead and create educational games

- Present the games created by
Gamechangers participants

Festival themes
The idea of the festival is to bring together games that
promote positive changes in society.

Games and workshops will have three focuses:
Civic education
Development of civic competencies through work with topics: such as ecology, sustainable development, human rights, inclusion, historical memory, gender equality, etc.

Soft Skills
Development of social competencies (soft skills), such as emotional intelligence, critical thinking, effective communication, etc.
Entrepreneurial mindset and
financial literacy
This year we have a new topic: development of financial literacy and entrepreneurial mindset through educational games.
Format of the festival
  • Online
    Held in English. With speakers and partners from different EU countries. Open for participants worldwide.
    A unique opportunity to learn from experts
    in educational games from different countries.
  • Offline
    Held in St. Petersburg in Russian.
    We are waiting for speakers and partners
    from all over Russia.
    Final vunues TBA.

    Those who already have developed educational games.
  • Beginners with no experience
    Educators who have no games and no experience in facilitating games, but who are willing to start facilitating educational games.

How it was in 2020?

The Gamechangers Fest was on February 15-16th
which was based at ITMO University in Saint Petersburg. It assembled more than 300 participants from 6 countries.
The Festival included 20 games, 8 workshops, a project fair and a discussion about the roles of games in education.
